Support
Write to support@shelfclip.com with anything — a bug, a question about your data, a billing problem. A person reads every message. For a bug, say which device and app version you use and what you did just before.
Getting set up
- Mac (macOS 26 or later): download Shelfclip or get it from the Mac App Store. It lives in the menu bar and files everything you copy. Press ⌘⇧V for the quick panel. To paste straight into the app you’re in, allow Accessibility access in Settings → General; without it the clip goes on the clipboard and you press ⌘V yourself.
- iPhone (App Store): open Shelfclip and it saves what you copied — iOS asks first; to stop the question, choose Allow in Settings → Shelfclip → Paste from Other Apps. You can also share a page, link or text to Shelfclip from any app, and the Home Screen widget, Control Center and the Action Button save the clipboard in one tap.
- Chrome: install the Shelfclip extension, then connect it at shelfclip.com/connect/extension. Press ⌥⇧S on a page, or right-click a link or a selection.
- AI assistants: add
https://shelfclip.com/mcpas a remote MCP server (in Claude Code:claude mcp add --transport http shelfclip https://shelfclip.com/mcp), sign in and approve it.
Shelves and filing
Everything lands on one of nine shelves — Read, Ideas, Reference, Prompts, Tools, Code, Skills, People and Shopping — with a few tags. If a clip is on the wrong shelf, move it; move two clips from the same site to the same shelf and Shelfclip files that site there from then on (you can see and remove these rules in Account). You can add a one-line annotation to any clip. Shelfclip doesn’t do notes or to-dos: it collects what you copy and share.
Signing in
You don’t need an account to start. To connect an assistant or the Chrome extension, or — with Pro — to use one library on every device and the web, sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a 6-digit code sent to your email — on iPhone, on the Mac (from the App Store or from this site) and on the web. Use the same account on every device. If you signed up with Sign in with Apple and chose to hide your email, the address shown in the app’s Account screen is the one to use for an email code.
Pro, purchases and restoring
- Pro ($3.99 a month or $29.99 a year, 14-day free trial for new subscribers) and Lifetime ($99.99 once) are bought in the app through the App Store. One purchase unlocks every device signed in to the same account, and the web library.
- New phone or reinstalled? Sign in, then tap Restore Purchases in Account.
- Using the Mac app downloaded from this site? It can’t sell through the App Store itself: buy Pro in Shelfclip on iPhone or from the Mac App Store (the Get Pro button in Settings → Account opens it), then sign in on this Mac with the same account.
Cancelling and refunds
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date in your Apple Account settings — on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on a Mac, App Store → your account → Subscriptions — and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
- Export: Account → Your Data (Settings → Account on the Mac) saves your library as Markdown or JSON.
- Delete your account: Account → Delete account. It erases your clips on our servers and on that device, and signs out your other devices.
- What is uploaded and what never leaves your device is in the privacy policy; plans and subscriptions are in the terms.
