These terms cover your use of Shelfclip: the Mac and iPhone apps, shelfclip.com, the browser extension and the Shelfclip connection for AI assistants. By using Shelfclip you agree to them. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app.
Your clips are yours
You own everything you copy into Shelfclip. You give us permission to store, process and sync it only to run the service for you, as described in the privacy page. Don't use Shelfclip to store content you have no right to keep.
Plans
- Free: Shelfclip on your Mac and iPhone showing your latest 100 clips on each device, and 100 AI-organised clips a month. New copies are always saved; older clips stay on the device, hidden, until you upgrade, and clips beyond the monthly allowance wait, unorganised. Free does not sync between devices: each device sees the clips it saved (plus what your AI assistants save). Pictures stay on the device that copied them.
- Pro ($3.99 a month or $29.99 a year): unlimited history, sync across your Mac, iPhone and the web library (pictures included), unlimited organising, search by meaning and unlimited saves from AI assistants.
- Lifetime ($99.99, paid once): Pro for as long as Shelfclip runs, with fair use of 3,000 AI-organised clips a month. Above that, clips are organised at a slower pace rather than stopped.
Prices are in US dollars; the App Store shows the price in your currency, including any taxes, before you buy. A purchase belongs to your Shelfclip account and turns on Pro on every device signed in to that account and in the web library.
Buying and subscriptions
Pro and Lifetime are sold only through Apple’s App Store — in Shelfclip on iPhone, or in Shelfclip from the Mac App Store — and Apple’s Media Services Terms apply to the purchase. If you use the Mac app downloaded from shelfclip.com, you buy Pro on iPhone or from the Mac App Store and sign in with the same account.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- Automatic renewal. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription: it renews at the end of each month or year at the same price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. If the price changes, Apple tells you first and, where the law or Apple’s rules require it, asks you to agree.
- Free trial. New subscribers get 14 days free, once. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged. If you buy Lifetime while subscribed, cancel the subscription so it doesn’t renew.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on a Mac: App Store → your account → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your Shelfclip account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, Pro ends on that account.
- When Pro ends, your clips stay yours: nothing is deleted, and you are back on the Free plan’s limits — each device shows its latest 100 clips and stops syncing.
Fair use
Don't try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, and don't use it to store or spread malware or illegal content. We may limit or close accounts that do. Connected AI assistants act on your behalf and count toward your plan's limits.
Skills installs
Shelfclip can install AI skills from public repositories you copied. Those files come from their authors, not from us. Shelfclip shows what a skill contains before you install it; you decide whether to trust it.
The service
We work hard to keep Shelfclip running and your data safe, but it is provided “as is”, without warranties, to the extent the law allows. Our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Changes and ending
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect. You can stop using Shelfclip and delete your account at any time.
